Dear Community,
I greet you in the Name of our Lord and Savior and pray His Grace and Peace continues to be upon you.
It is my job to call the Spirtual Directors that will serve on weekends. It has surprised me how hard it has been to find Spiritual Directors that are available to serve. I am asking the community to help in this area by identifying qualified clergy and emailing me or calling me with names addresses and phone numbers. Please do not assume a name was given to me by someone else. I welcome receiving your input. The Secretariat has set criteria for clergy that qualify for serving as Spiritual Directors for a weekend. To help you in the community help me identify future clergy, I have included those criteria below:
1. We are looking for Clergy that have made a “Three day Weekend.” The weekends that qualify are: Cursillo, Via De Cristo, Emmaus Walk, Tres Dias, Cum Cristos, or Diaspora.
2. The preference is to find Clergy that are Lutheran, however they do not need to be Lutheran as long as they agree to respect and not challenge Lutheran Doctrines.
3. The Clergy need to be ordained and in good standing with their credentialing body.
4. Clergy that serve on weekends need to have at least one year experience in paid full time ministry at a church or Para-church ministry. They can also have served for at least one year full time paid as a chaplain.
5. The Secretariat has also decided we do not want Clergy that are currently in the middle of a marital or church crisis serving on a weekend.
I thank the Secretariat for setting criteria. What many in the community do not realize, but the Growth and success of Gold Coast Via De Cristo over its many years of history is based on the men and women who serve, who take everything seriously, listen to the community at large, and enforce the guidelines that are in place.
